Lone Three In Valdres

One Christmas we spent in the Norwegian mountains, we had the fortune to get a heavy snowfall during the holidays. Not only did it secure that good Christmas-feeling, it made everything look amazing. Walking around in the woods was pure magic.

For the entire week I was looking for a beautiful, lonely snow-covered three, with a white background. No matter how hard I tried, I could not find one. It was on the brink of becoming an obsession. As our return to home was coming closer, I was loosing the hope of finding my motive. When we packed the car to leave I was close to giving up.

The drive home was like taking a ride around in a postcard. Valdres is a usually a lovely valley, but is rare to see it like this. And in the back of my mind I had not completely given up finding my lone three. I kept one eye on the road, and one on the nature we passed by.

After about half an hour drive I found it! Out in a field next to the road. “There is my three!”, I bursted out. My wife and my son looked at me like I had turned mad. I turned the car into a bus stop, and got my drone out. I flew it back over the field we just passed. I laughed out loud as I was talking the pictures, It looked amazing!

I was so proud of the pictures that I sent it to my favourite photo magazine, Photography Masterclass. A few months later, they printed it, and I could finally boast of being a published photographer.
